Emiel de Boer - International Key Account Manager McGregor
Describe a typical working day?
Buying, analyzing resale numbers, contact the buyers of the key accounts, analyzing turnovers, consulting other Key Account Managers, looking for new possibilities, placing additional orders as well as giving input on the new collections. I don’t do all of this in 1 day, but these on a very regular basis.
Describe your background and experience?
During my course in “Fashion Management” I started working as an Account Manager for Hackett. That is where I realized how beautiful the sales profession is and studying was hardly something I was occupied with. After 1.5 years I forced myself to quit working and finish my studies. After I graduated I shortly worked for Hema, 3 years ago I had my interview at McGregor. I started as junior Key Account Manager and now my function has grown to International Key Account Manager.
What do you like about your job?
Our growth and the speed at which this is going is extremely motivating. Together with the Key Account Team we succeed to improve and expand the collaborations. This continuously leads to a better result. This helps me everyday to start my job with passion!

McGregor is a compact company with an enormous reach and lots of opportunities. There are many chances to continue growing. This combined with the people I work with, makes it enjoyable to work at McGregor
What has been your biggest challenge to date at the McGregor Fashion Group?
My continuous challenge is to increase the turnover of last year. To increase McGregor’s visibility and to show a better collection in our Shop in Shops.
What personal contribution that you have made to the success of the McGregor Fashion Group are you most proud off?
We as Key Accounts team have been able to show a growth while the country was in recession. Im very proud of that!
