Describe a typical working day
Dynamic! Every single working day is different. The week might start with a brainstorming session with the design team on Monday, followed by shopping in London on Tuesday, discussing design sketches on Wednesday, then preparing for a trip to the Far East the rest of the week. Then I'll get on a plane to Hong Kong to discuss the development of styles with manufacturers there. Never a dull moment!
Describe your background and experience
In 1992 I left art college a qualified fashion designer. A year later I started working as a designer for a major Dutch clothing manufacturer, where I specialized in jackets and coats. I worked for various clothing manufacturers for about 11 years. After that, I was given the opportunity to launch the first womenswear collection at Gaastra. A wonderful challenge!

The dynamism, constantly seeking out innovation, and developing the collections together with the design team.

The challenges and the creative possibilities I have on a daily basis at Gaastra. And the inspiring colleagues I have the pleasure of working with.
What has been your biggest challenge to date at the McGregor Fashion Group?
Every day is a challenge with all the different creative elements involved in my job. It's also important for me to give creative leadership to the design team. A new collection is an opportunity and a new challenge! Getting the womenswear collection off the ground was of course a huge challenge.
