"We have an authentic piece of history. It is priceless!!"
Questions to Christian Arkins, Creative Director McGregor
Describe a typical working day?
That is a very difficult question indeed, my days are literally different every day. In general spent working with all product teams, Visual Merchandising and also with marketing.
Describe your background and experience?
Well, in total I´ve 17 or 18 years spent working in American sportswear for brands like Ralph Lauren, Original Penquin, and JCrew in NYC. I also have quite a bit of true luxury experience as well where I covered menswear, womenswear, and kidswear. I initiated as a designer, so my first 5 or 6 years I spent in different categories like denim, dresses, knitwear, and wovens, before I became responsible for complete collections.
What do you like about your job?
I like the ability to create our future, across the whole brand experience. In doing so, affecting many people across country borders and ultimately across oceans, it is a rush!!
What do you like about working at the McGregor Fashion Group?
I love the heritage of both McGregor and Gaastra have. There is a real story to be told and in our stories, we own an authentic piece of history. It is priceless!!
What has been your biggest challenge to date at the McGregor Fashion Group?
My biggest challenge is continuous which is encouraging people across the company that our ability to evolve the way we think as a brand is the key to proper international success.
What personal contribution that you have made to the success of the McGregor Fashion Group are you most proud off?
At this point, it would have to be the creation and launch of "21 by McGregor". This is only a start, many more to come!!
